The three shapes are structural, not tunable: a 1×1 has no series to describe, a 1-D run has exactly one, and a block has one per column (or row). This is the same discipline that keeps a range from rendering cell facets — bounded by construction rather than by a limit that has to fire.
Data for a caller, never printed: a listing row already carries the size (1×1, 110×1) and
the header note, so a shape word beside them is a second vocabulary for the same fact — and
table has to stay free to mean an authored ITable.
