type in WORDS somewhere the icon would only repeat (the argument form puts it in the field's
placeholder, where an empty field has room for it and a filled one no longer needs it). The type
icon is also the least legible of the three: it is the same glyph whatever the type, so it can
only ever mean "hover me".
