Remarks

How an activation says what to show, as opposed to merely show yourself — a conditional format preset ("Greater Than…") opens the rules pane already editing a new rule seeded with its condition. The area does not read it; only the pane registered under key knows its shape (see ItemsPaneArgs for the built-in list panes).

It belongs to ONE activation. Activating the same pane again without it clears it — otherwise a pane that unmounts on tab switch would re-consume the last one every time it came back — so a caller that wants it delivered again passes it again.
